Importance of Dietary Silica and Diatomaceous Earth

Mentioning the importance of dietary Silica and Diatomaceous Earth usually mentally associates that word with sand. But we all need silica. It is what’s known as an essential trace mineral, meaning that we need to get it from outside in smaller amounts than say calcium.

Up until recently, silica was once merely known as the “beauty mineral” as it contributes to softer skin and hair and harder nails. But lately, silica has emerged as an important trace mineral for even not so appearance concerned human beings. Nevertheless, most are unaware of its importance. Dr. Barbara Hendel, German author of “Water & Salt” stated: “Silica is the most important trace mineral for human health.”

Due to large scale mono-culture agriculture’s disregard for proper farming methods, most of us are mineral deficient. And minerals are even more important than vitamins. Only enzymes are more important than minerals. There is one food source that is extremely high in silica – diatomaceous earth (DE), food grade of course.

Diatomaceous earth (food grade) has been used successfully to remove parasites from livestock and pets for some time. And humans have been consuming it for the same reason lately. It’s an inexpensive, safe, and easily mixed with juices or water powder that goes further than removing parasites and perhaps even some heavy metals, as well as fungi, harmful bacteria and viruses from the lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

Those attributes alone are enough to consume diatomaceous earth often. But it so happens that DE provides a heck of a lot of silica also. DE is composed of a unique combination of 33% silicon, 19% calcium, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron, as well fifteen other trace minerals like boron, manganese, titanium, copper and zirconium

Why Silica is Important

Silica helps ensure collagen elasticity of all connecting tissues in the body, including tendons and cartilage. This reduces aches and pains and maintains your body’s flexibility. It has also been determined lately that high levels of blood serum silica keep arterial plaque from building and clogging blood vessels.

The buildup of calcium in arteries leads to calcification within arterial walls, which can be attributed to heart disease more than falsely labeled-as-dangerous high cholesterol. When excess calcium in the blood is not absorbed as bone matter, this danger arises.

To ensure the bone building procedure is proper, vitamin K2, magnesium, and silica or silicon are needed. DE offers a healthy balance of silica and magnesium to help calcium become part of bone matter. Otherwise the unhealthy situation of increased blood serum calcium appears, leading to arterial deposits that form plaque. Silica is vital for keeping strong bones and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Then there’s the issue of aluminum, which silica detoxes from organ tissues excluding the brain. There is no shortage of aluminum toxicity in our environment. It’s in cookware, beverage containers, foil, second hand cigarette smoke, cosmetics, sunscreen, and chemtrail residues have shown high levels of nanoparticle aluminum. Aluminum is also in all vaccines.
Aluminum accumulates more in organs where its tissue has a slower cellular turnover, or where it takes cells longer to die and be replaced. The heart and the brain are among them. When it comes to brain tissue aluminum toxicity that can lead to all sorts of neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s, MS, and autism.

Dr. Chris Exley, PhD, recommends a couple of pricey mineral waters high in silica that better health food stores carry or can be ordered on line. They are Volvic and Fiji. Stay away from sweetened and flavored versions, clear mineral water only.
Exley prefers them because they contain ionic suspensions of silicic acid that will penetrate the blood brain barrier. He claimed positive results occurred with vaccine injured children drinking these waters. Both brain tissue calcification and aluminum toxicity are linked to Alzheimer’s disease as well as other neurological disorders.

The addition of dietomaceous earth as a supplement will go a long way toward detoxing aluminum from almost all organs as well as cleansing the colon and providing you with all the silica you need. If you have neurological concerns and issues, then add a little over a pint or so daily of one of those pricey mineral waters for at least 10 days.

Other DE Uses

Diatomaceous earth is very inexpensive. You can buy enough to “waste” as a non-toxic insecticide for crawling insects. It tends to remove their exoskeleton outer shells leaving them to die. It’s also handy for kitty litter odors and it’s a safe way to naturally deworm pets. It has been used to absorb toxic spills as well. Pretty handy stuff, I’d say. Utopia Silver offers it.
